Erling Haaland

Erling Haaland has started the Premier League season on a high, making it 10 goals out of the six matches he has played. He has been ruthless in the rival penalty box and has punished every mistake made by them. He has converted a majority of the chances that have come his way. Halland is in no mood to slow down as his current strike rate is 1.86 per game.

At this rate, he is expected to finish the season with almost 100 goals in all club competitions. Halland is also the joint top scorer in the UEFA Champions League with three goals in two matches, leveling with Kylian Mbappe and Robert Lewandowski. He has also netted two hat-tricks in two consecutive matches against Crystal Palace and Nottingham Forest in the Premier League.

Erling Haaland has lived up to the expectations of his coach right from the start of the season

Erling Haaland on his way to scoring the winner against Borussia Dortmund last night.

Manchester City lost their long-time striker and club legend Sergio Aguero in the summer transfer window. Fans were worried if their new signing would be able to live up to the pressure. Well, Erling Haaland has been a major threat to the opposition, as he has scored 13 goals in just 8 matches in all competitions. There is whatsoever no sign of him slowing down.

Despite Manchester City’s slow start to the season with draws against Newcastle and Aston Villa, Pep Guardiola finally finds his side settled with Erling Haaland coming into the team as a natural number nine. The previous season, City mostly used the false nine position due to the lack of a perfect striker but now Pep has assigned Kevin De Bruyne and Phil Foden a much more advanced role in the final end of the pitch.
