Tottenham Hotspurs had a free fall in their Premier League fixture against Newcastle United. Spurs were decimated 6-1 defeat at St James’ Park on Sunday.
The match was a shoot-out for the top four. Newcastle welcomed Spurs with a likely place in next season’s Champions League on the line. Tottenham could not have got off to a worse start though as Joelinton’s shot was parried into the path of Jacob Murphy. Murphy tapped in after just two minutes.
Things got even worse for Spurs, just moments later as Joelinton rounded Hugo Lloris for a second goal in the sixth minute. The opening 10 minutes got even tougher for Spurs as Murphy struck from the edge of the area for his second goal of the game and Newcastle’s third in the ninth minute. In the 20th minute of the match, the fourth came as Alexander Isak raced onto a through ball and fired in. Isak scored his second and the team’s fifth just seconds later as his shot squirmed under Lloris.
After a very disappointing first half, Tottenham started the second half with some positivity as Harry Kane scored in the 49th minute. But it was of no good as Callum Wilson scores right after coming off the bench in the 67th minute restoring the five-goal advantage.
Eddie Howe’s side created complete dominance in the first half itself as they continued to find the channels on the right-hand inside channel. Joe Willock devastated Pedro Porro as he continued to bomb forward at every given opportunity, pinning the Spurs left back. Willock and Alexander Isak continued to change places to pile on the misery of the Spurs. the game ended with both Isak and Murphy scoring braces.

According to reports, Fans are really unhappy with the club‘s poor performance on the field against Newcastle. Many fans have shown there anger via social media. One fan wrote, “My God. We are pathetic”. While another fan wrote, “Every single player needs to be fined wages, utter utter cunts”. And a third fan wrote, “This is the lowest point I’ve witnessed as a spurs fan”.
