Cristiano Ronaldo was yet again seen fuming in the recently concluded Al-Nassr v Abha clash in the Pro Saudi League. The Portuguese star kicked away the ball angrily into the air, a thing that saw him receive a yellow card from the match official.

The incident goes back to the first half of the Al-Nassr v Abha clash when Cristiano Ronaldo just got possession of the ball, seconds before the referee blew the half-time whistle. The 5-time Ballon d’Or winner looked in great control of the ball and was looking confident as he had only one defender to beat. However, since he was meters inside the halfway line and the clock had already passed the additional time, the referee didn’t allow him to take the ball and blew up the whistle.

The thing angered Ronaldo to such an extent that he quickly grabbed the ball in his hand and sent it miles off in the air. His rage didn’t just end there as after the referee showed him the yellow card, he was seen blabbering and yelling, a sign that marked more frustration. Although Al-Nassr won the match 3-1 later on, it is Ronaldo’s incident that became much more significant.

A similar thing also happened in one of the recent Al-Nassr clashes as well when Ronaldo kicked off a water bottle after the full-time whistle after he failed to score in that particular match.

After scoring nearly two back-to-back hattricks for Al-Nassr earlier, Ronaldo’s recent performance for the club hasn’t been up to the mark. He has failed to score or assist in the last three Al-Nassr matches and thus, many fans suspect that his real angle was not directed at the referee but more towards his performance.

Fans, especially those in Saudi Arabia, clearly didn’t like Ronaldo’s gesture after the referee blew the half-time whistle. While some slammed him for being arrogant and disrespectful, others tweeted that he has no empathy or sportsmanship. Here are some of the reactions-

Al-Nassr next plays the very next team on Saturday. They are currently placed second in the Pro Saudi League, a point behind table topper and arch-rivals, Al-Ittihad, after playing the same number of matches.
