Gerard Pique has been trolled again with Shakira’s name. The couple had a tumultuous split in June 2022 after dating for eleven years. The retired Spanish defender was caught cheating on her with his new girlfriend, Clara Chia Marti. The footballer had allegedly gone behind the Colombian singer’s back while her father was in the ICU. When the singer became aware of this, she went through a very dark and tough phase in her life.

Soon, they announced the split on social media. After settling custody issues, Shakira left Barcelona to move to Miami with her children. The singer has since then gone through a certain rebuilding of her career where she has started dropping new music regularly.

Most of her recent songs have a certain common thread in it. All of these songs take certain digs at Gerard Pique and his new girlfriend Clara Chia Marti. This is evident in songs like ‘TQG’, ‘Copa Vacia’ and ‘Monotonia’. But the most direct shots she fired were in her song with BZRP. She said in the lyrics that she was worth two 22-year-olds and he swapped a Rolex for a Casio.

This song became a huge sensation on the internet. Pique responded to it by promoting Casio in his live stream. This was the exact song that was used by the fans to disturb Pique. While he was in the Arena, trying to enjoy an NBA-friendly game in Paris, many fans started singing the lyrics of the song loudly. While in the video, it is evident that Pique heard what they were saying, but he chose to pay no attention to it.

This is not the first instance of Gerard Pique being disturbed by the crowd. Last month, he went to a nightclub to celebrate a King’s League event. There the owner recognized him and asked him to speak on stage.

But before he could start talking, the visitors of the club started chanting Shakira’s name stopping him from speaking. He got triggered by it and responded by saying, “I’m a world champion and you’re nothing.”

All this might also have something to do with his playing career. Pique was known for winding up players during his days at Barcelona. This might be payback for that.
