“Should rather be playing in the Premier League”- Fans urge Todd Boehly to replace Chelsea’s men’s team with their women’s team after they win FA Cup again

Chelsea won its third consecutive Women’s FA Cup on Sunday. They defeated 1-0 Manchester United in the final. The Red Devils threatened them all afternoon but thanks to a well-taken Sam Kerr goal in the 68th minute Chelsea was the one who had the last laugh. This was a definitely day for Chelsea and Kerr as they held on to win the FA Cup final in front of a record 77,390 fans at a sun-dappled Wembley.
Although the women’s team is having quite a campaign, unfortunately, the same can’t be said about the Chelsea men’s team. The men’s team has been drastically suffering ever since the sacking of Thomas Tuchel who brought them to UCL glory in 2020-21. The team hasn’t been itself since the club parted its way with the German coach. The new owner tried to bolster the team with a host of new signings. But none of that has been of any use up until now for the club.
The club owner brought Brighton and Hove Albion manager Graham Potter in hopes of the betterment of the team. But the stint of the English manager Potter at Chelsea was not very comforting. Chelsea under Potter managed to win just 17 matches out of the 38 matches they played in all competitions. After a stressful run at the club, Potter and the club parted ways with mutual consent. The club brought back club-legend Frank Lampard in the form of a caretaker manager until the end of the season.
So far this season, the Blues have shown a very disappointing performance. In the Premier League, they stand in 11th place with 43 points. They drew their previous match against Wolves in a 2-2 score-line. The team doesn’t seem to have any hopes of qualifying for any of the European competitions. The club is also out of any chance of winning silver wear this season as Fans have been pretty upset with the performance of the men’s team this season. And they would surely hope that the men’s team has a successful campaign like the women’s next season.

According to reports, fans are reportedly slamming the Chelsea men’s team for their disappointing run this campaign. The team bottled their two-goal lead against Nottingham Forest on Saturday, as the match ended in a 2-2 draw. On the other hand Chelsea women’s team are having quite a campaign this season. They have won the FA Cup today as they defeated United 1-0 in the final. This has led to fans drawing up comparison between the men’s team and the women’s team.
Most of the fans think that the women’s team is better than the men’s at the moment. Many fans have posted their opinion on this topic on social media. One fan wrote, “Chelsea women should rather be playing the premier league. They are better than their Men’s team.” While another fan wrote, “Chelsea Women are better than men’s today proved that”. And a third fan wrote, “Big up @CarefreeLewisG sound guy met him at Wembley. Probably watching Chelsea women’s cuz they are better than the men. He’s bolo tho with.”
After pulling off a 2-2 draw against Nottingham Forest on Saturday, Chelsea next plays against Manchester City at home. Interestingly, while City has the chance to win the Premier League at Stamford Bridge next Sunday, Chelsea will slip to the 13th place if they lose against Pep’s side.
