FC Barcelona legend Gerard Pique slammed the Spanish club’s arch-rivals Real Madrid, claiming that referees in La Liga favor Los Blancos. Pique made the controversial claim connecting the dots to referees in the King’s League. The World Cup winner is one of the owners of the Spanish 7 a-side league.
Pique took a huge dig at Los Blancos and claimed that referees in La Liga make decisions in favor of them. He also said that refereeing in the King’s League is impartial, unlike the Spanish top flight.
“In La Liga, all the referees are in favour of Real Madrid. In the Kings League, there is no team that supports Real Madrid… Everyone has to believe in the Kings League referees.” said the Spaniard, as per Barca Universal.
The World Cup winner has never been shy to express his feelings towards Real Madrid. He has had numerous controversial moments in the El Clasicos. He was often seen exchanging blows with his former Spain teammate Sergio Ramos, who was captain of the Spanish rivals for a long time.

Xavi all smiles after FC Barcelona beat Real Madrid to win Spanish Super Cup
FC Barcelona manager Xavi hailed his players for their impressive performance in the Spanish Super Cup final against Real Madrid. The Blaugranas won the contest 3-1 to get Xavi Hernandez his first title as the coach of Barcelona.
“What we devised and planned went perfectly. I am very happy for the players because, since I have been here, they want to win and they work hard for it. They have received a lot of criticism, unfairly, and today they have been liberated. It gives us a lot of confidence, we must be very proud. For Barcelona, it is very positive. We are creating a team and I hope it will be the first trophy of many.” said a happy coach Xavi.
Xavi highlighted midfielder Gavi’s performance in the final as well. The 18-year-old bagged one goal and two assists against the rivals. His coach was left in awe of his skills and leadership skills.
“He’s a born leader, too, that all comes naturally to him — and at the age of 18. He is spectacular. I have said it many times, but I don’t get tired of praising him. He has no ceiling, so don’t slow him down.”
Barca’s midfield is set for another 10 years, with Pedri and Gavi set to repeat the rampage show once held by Andres Iniesta and Xavi. The two Spaniards look ice-cold on the ball every time they get it in the match and are never afraid of the opposition.
