The Welsh football legend was recently spotted watching his club, Salford City, play Leyton Orient at the Peninsula Stadium. The two-time Champions League winner was at the match alongside his girlfriend Zara Charles. Giggs had bought a ten per cent minority stake in the club alongside former teammates, Paul Scholes, Gary Neville, Phil Neville and Nicky Butt in 2014.

This is the first time that Giggs has been seen publicly following the recent allegations against him. The Manchester United icon is accused of assaulting Kate Greville and her sister Emma at his home in Manchester. He also stands accused of coercive and controlling behaviour towards his ex-girlfriend over three years.

Despite matching each other stride for stride, the Manchester club were unable to capitalize on their chances. The loss sees the Ammies slip out of the top seven. Salford are now a point behind seventh-placed Mansfield Town having played a game more than their promotion rivals.

The Ammies will now travel to the English capital, where they will take on AFC Wimbledon. With just six games remaining the battle for the playoff spots is heating up. The Manchester side will need to win all their matches to ensure the best possible chance of clinching a top-seven spot.
