Shamed former Spanish football president Luis Rubiales banned by FIFA for THREE YEARS over Jenni Hermoso ‘kiss-gate’ scandal

The FIFA disciplinary committee has suspended Luis Rubiales from all football-related activities for three years. In August, Luis Rubiales kissed Jenni Hermoso on her lips without her consent after Spain’s Women secured a historic win over England.
FIFA has officially banned Rubiales from football for breaching Article 13 of the FIFA disciplinary code. Even with the historic win, the scandalous act from the former Spanish Football Association president has totally overshadowed Spain Women’s landmark win.
The whole controversy stemmed from when Luis Rubiales kissed Jenni Hermoso as the Spain national team was collecting their medals after winning their first ever FIFA World Cup trophy. The incident went viral all over social media very rapidly as fans and netizens criticized Luis’s behavior and accused him of abuse and harassment towards the 33-year-old forward.
Last month, following the widespread criticism of the act, the court sanctioned a restraining order that prevents Rubiales from going within 200 meters of Hermoso or contacting her. However, the 46-year-old Rubailes has resigned from his position as president of RFEF.

With the latest developments of Luis Rubiales being handed a ban from football extending from 90 days to 3 years, the position of the Spanish Football Association’s (RFEF) president is vacant. There have been many speculations about who is going to fill the respectable and responsible position.
Recently, after the major developments, the Higher Sports Council reported Luis Rubiales for abuse towards Jenni Hermoso at the FIFA World Cup medal ceremony. As per the current situation, Pedro Rocha, the president of the Extremadura Federation and also the current vice president, is likely to replace him as the president of the RFEF.
As the situation becomes more tense football fans and enthusiasts are anticipating more updates on the case. The football community wants total respect and justice for Jenni Hermoso as they condemn Luis Rubiales’ shameful behavior.
