Bella, Cristiano Ronaldo and Georgina Rodriguez’s most recent child was hospitalized in the summer of 2022 due to bronchitis. The hospitalization came after the couple had lost Bella’s twin Angel during childbirth. Recalling the event on her reality TV show ‘I am Georgina’, Georgina stated: “When Bella had to be hospitalised for a week, Cris hit rock bottom.”

Speaking about his child’s illness and taking some time off football with Manchester United, Ronaldo stated in an interview with Piers Morgan: “I spoke with the directors and president of Manchester United and they kind of didn’t believe that something was going wrong which made me feel bad. They believed it but it’s something that really hurt me because they doubted my words. We had one week in the hospital because Bella had big problems and I didn’t go to the pre-season because of that. I wasn’t going to leave my family if something happened to do a pre-season because I didn’t think it was fair to leave my family.”

Manchester United terminated Ronaldo’s contract after the controversial interview. The Portuguese subsequently signed for Saudi Pro League’s Al Nassr which also made him the richest footballer on the planet.

The controversial interview with Piers Morgan led to Cristiano Ronaldo’s exit from the club, with most of the fans criticizing the Portuguese for being unprofessional. However, the rest said that the talismanic forward was right and that his statements should be a wake-up call for the club.

Speaking about his Manchester United exit, Ronaldo stated: “When we are at the top of the mountain, we often cannot see what is below. I went through a bad phase of my career, I have no problems admitting that. But life moves on.” Ronaldo has moved far and away from the criticism and is currently shining for his new club, Al Nassr.

As for Manchester United, the club has retaliated after a horrid start to the season as they stand third on the Premier League table. They also won their first silverware in six years as they lifted the Carabao Cup this season.
