“He is the best—not just of this era but of every era,” Frank Lampard gives his verdict on the Maradona Vs Lionel Messi debate

Chelsea and England legend Frank Lampard was in high praise for the seven-time Ballon d’Or winner Lionel Messi and said that he is counting on him on lifting the trophy on 18th December. Lampard is a huge fan of Messi and yet again was in no short of praise for the Argentine saying that this time Argentina is the favorite to win the trophy.

He went on to say that Messi has won every possible trophy there is to win as a footballer and he needs to win the World Cup as it’s a must for his legacy. He added, “you kind of want it to be a part of the CV that you’ve won a World Cup” on account of Lionel Messi’s records and achievements galore.

On talking about his favorite player, Lampard once told way back in 2015, “Diego Maradona was my favorite player always, but I think, for me, Lionel Messi is the best—not just of this era but of every era. I love watching him play, his personality, and his humility. He’s a great, great player.”
