PSG’s newly appointed manager, Christophe Galtier has already expressed his desire to have Neymar with the team for the following season. There was a lot of speculation at the beginning of the transfer window about the Brazilian.

Since his €222 million move, Neymar never managed to be there for Paris Saint-Germain when it mattered the most, due to injuries and falling out with fans. With Mbappe secured, and Messi staying for another year, rumours suggested that the winger could be sold by the club this summer.

“I want Neymar to stay” – Christophe Galtier on the PSG superstar

Speaking in his first press conference as the new manager of Paris Saint-Germain, Christophe Galtier spoke about the Brazilian winger. He said, “I want Neymar to stay here with us. He’s kind of world class player, all the managers in the world want top players like him”.

“I’ve already clear ideas on my plan for Neymar here at PSG”. Galtier will have a full arsenal of string forwards as he prepares for a new era under him. This is Galtier’s first big club that he has managed ever, although the Frenchman has enjoyed success in the smaller clubs he has managed.

As for the 30-year-old, he will be keen to impress the new manager and become an undisputed starter for the club as they begin a new season with the same old objective, European Glory.

The former Barcelona player has scored 100 goals for Paris Saint-Germain while assisting a further 60 times for the Parisian club. However, these numbers came in just 144 appearances for the club in 5 years, showcasing the number of games he has missed for the club. The club and Galtier will hope that his’s injury problems are behind him as he gears up for the new season.
