“I would’ve called pundits out quite a lot”– Jamie Carragher responds to Everton forward Richarlison’s ‘I don’t respect you’ remark
Jamie Carragher recently responded positively to Richarlison’s furious tweet calling out the former Liverpool defender over prior comments made about the Brazilian and Everton. This comes after the Blues secured their Premier League status for the 2022/23 campaign with a 3-2 victory over Crystal Palace.
Richarlison told Liverpool legend and prominent pundit Jamie Carragher to “wash your mouth” and “I don’t respect you” after helping Everton secure Premier League survival.
“Jamie Carragher wash your mouth before you talk about me and Everton and I don’t respect you,” Richarlison tweeted, followed by the smiling poo emoji. Carragher responded to those comments on Friday morning by praising Richarlison, who scored in the win over Palace at Goodison Park.
“I actually quite like this, if Twitter was about when I was a player I’m sure I would’ve called pundits out quite a lot! Honestly, get up. Get up, carry on,” Carragher posted.
Carragher had previously accused Richarlison of play-acting in last month’s Merseyside derby at Anfield, which ended in a 2-0 win for Liverpool.
Richarlison’s Everton vs Crystal Palace: As it happened
Frank Lampard’s side needed to beat Palace at Goodison Park on Thursday night to avoid heading into the final day of the season with their top-flight status still in doubt. Things began badly for the home side when Jean-Philippe Mateta put Palace ahead before Jordan Ayew handed the visitors a two-goal lead.
However, a spirited second-half comeback saw Everton drag themselves level through goals from Michael Keane and Richarlison. And with five minutes remaining in normal time, Dominic Calvert-Lewin headed in a dramatic winner for Everton, sparking wild celebrations and a pitch invasion at Goodison Park.
