One of the reasons for Mbappe’s choice to stay at PSG, according to some sources, was the relationship between the 2022 Qatar World Cup and the club’s Qatari owners. The French President advised Mbappe to stay at Parc des Princes because he is regarded as a national hero in France and could be in the spotlight when the 2024 Olympic Games begin in the nation’s capital.

Mbappe has agreed to a three-year contract that will keep him at the club until 2025. He will now be the highest-paid player in the world, earning £1 million each week. According to his new deal, Mbappe will also receive a massive £110 million signing-on fee.

There will also be other incentives including concessions on image rights. Despite having only one year left on his deal, Real has offered Mbappe a huge quantity of money in the summer of 2021. Mbappe called Real Madrid president Florentino Perez and informed him directly about his choice to stay at PSG.

PSG star Kylian Mbappe had accepted a deal with Real Madrid before changing his decision in PSG’s favor

Real Madrid had offered Mbappé a contract that would have made him the highest-paid player in the club’s history. It offered him an almost $140 million signing bonus, a net income of over $26 million each season, and complete ownership over his image rights. Mbappe was seen in Madrid following his transfer to Spain’s capital as Real Madrid has always been his dream club.

The transaction was described as “scandalous” by La Liga, which said it will submit a complaint with European soccer’s governing body, UEFA, as well as other authorities. Real Madrid President, Florentino Perez, was so determined to make Mbappe the focal point of the team to return to the top of domestic and European competitions as they were lacking a prolific striker like Cristiano Ronaldo.
