Lionel Messi, a World Cup winner, and a 7-time Ballon d’Or winner, recently spoke about his eighth Ballon d’Or nomination. He also talks about his life after winning the World Cup and Copa America in an interview with Miguel Granados. Messi shared that he’s focused on achieving more than just individual awards.
When asked about it, Messi called the Ballon d’Or ‘a beautiful honor’. He also mentioned being fortunate to win everything. Messi has an impressive record, including 4 UEFA Champions League titles, various league championships, a Copa America with Argentina, and the FIFA World Cup in Qatar in 2022. This sets him apart as a player who excels in both individual awards and team accomplishments.

Meanwhile, Lionel Messi was recently subbed off against Toronto early in the first half. This hints at a possible fitness related issue for the player. However, Inter Miami is yet to issue an official statement.

Lionel Messi opens up about PSG
Speaking in the interview, Granados asked Messi regarding life at PSG after the World Cup Win. In a light-hearted interview, Messi explained that he ended up at PSG because FC Barcelona didn’t renew his contract at the last moment. He mentioned facing challenges in his performances during his time in Paris. But added that winning the World Cup during his time there made up for all the struggles. Granados playfully responded, saying, “How cute.”
Messi reiterated that his relationship with Kylian Mbappe and every other player was ‘good’ and there was nothing to suggest otherwise. After his second season with the Parisians, Leo ended up winning the World Cup against France, the country where his club was based and prevented them from winning it again.
Furthermore, the Argentine maestro also stated that among all the 26 Players in the squad, it was only ‘him’ who was not appreciated and recognized by his club, following the Triumph in Qatar.
Later, Lionel Messi also spoke of his daily routine after moving to the US and how he and his family adjusted to life in Miami. He goes through his daily routine from waking up to breakfast to taking his kids to school and then to academy training sessions. The interview has gone viral on social media, and snippets of the same have started going viral on social media platform X.
