During the Chelsea coach’s extravagant celebrations, Antonio Conte makes fun of the fact that tripping Tuchel would have been “well deserved.” In a tense Premier League match at Stamford Bridge, the Tottenham manager frequently sparred with a managerial competitor.

A video of Tuchel tearing past him in a selective manner of Jose Mourinho was posted on Instagram by the former Juventus and Inter coach with the following caption: “Lucky I didn’t see you…” “Making you trip over would have been well deserved.”

However after the most recent “Battle of the Bridge” among the two London rivals, Tottenham coach Antonio Conte has introduced a new chapter to his dispute with Chelsea rival Thomas Tuchel, alleging it would have been “well deserved” had he tripped the German amidst wild goal celebrations. Tuchel sped by Conte on his way down the touchline after the Blues’ second attempt, which came courtesy of Reece James, resulted in a thrilling 2-2 tie.

The Spurs manager admits he was in disbelief at the moment when Harry Kane scored a late leveller for the visitors, but he thinks he would have acted if he had seen a chance because he had previously argued with another manager after witnessing his own team score.

Why did Conte and Tuchel clash on the touchline?

When Kalidou Koulibaly’s jaw-dropping opening goal for Chelsea was canceled out by Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg, two passionate characters fought for the first time at Stamford Bridge. The Blues were sure that they should have received a free kick before the Spurs goal was scored, therefore Tuchel was unimpressed when a jubilant Conte started to celebrate in his general direction.

The two had to be separated after an ugly brawl started, but neither was satisfied since they re-engaged when the game was over. Tuchel held Conte’s arm during the handshake that followed the game and urged the Italian to look him in the eye. Said actions were not well received, and both individuals were ultimately given red cards, which will cause them to serve touchline bans for subsequent Premier League games.
