Arsenal were crowned FA Community Shield winners at Wembley. The London Club defeated the treble winners from last season, Manchester City. The Gunners and City were tied at the end of normal time at 1-1, and hence the match was decided on penalties. Arsenal triumphed 4-1 thanks to the heroics of Aaron Ramsdale.

Most of the match was evenly contested. Since both sides fought hard and went toe-to-toe for victory. Manchester City went ahead in the 77th minute through a Cole Palmer screamer. Straightaway putting Arsenal on the back foot. They strived to find the equalizer with thirteen additional minutes added after the normal time.

Mikel Arteta’s men finally found their goal in the 11th minute of added time. Through Leandro Trossard’s deflected goal. By the final whistle of normal time, the scoreline read 1-1, taking the match further to Penalty shootouts. Martin Odegaard, Leandro Trossard, Bukayo Saka, and Fabio Veira all scored their penalties for Arsenal. The Sky Blues had only Bernardo Silva scoring his penalty for them.

Kevin De Bruyne and Rodri, both missed their penalties in a shocking display. While the Belgian hit the woodwork Spaniard’s tame effort was saved by Ramsdale- who was at his top form today. Consequently, Mikel Arteta won his first trophy of the season with Arsenal. Fans were excited for Arsenal’s win. They have full faith in their manager as he leads them into the new season. On the other hand, Pep Guardiola and Manchester City would shake off the loss and focus on the new season.
