Piers Morgan slams fan saying Cristiano Ronaldo is finished
Piers Morgan had a blunt yet smart reply to a fan asking him his thoughts on Cristiano Ronaldo getting “finished”. Ronaldo left Manchester United for the second time in his career in November 2022. He recently signed the biggest contract in football history with the Saudi club Al-Nassr.
The 38-year-old was shown the door at Old Trafford following his explosive interview with Piers Morgan. The Portugal international made some bold statements for his former club and the people associated with it. His contract was terminated on mutual consent while in Qatar for the FIFA World Cup.
In playing terms, Ronaldo has taken a major step in going to Saudi Arabia. However, Morgan suggested that he is not “finished” as he is set to become the world’s highest-paid athlete at the age of 38.
“Last time I checked, @Cristiano had just signed the biggest transfer deal in football history to become the world’s highest-paid athlete at age 38. Playing in the only country to beat World Champions Argentina in the World Cup. That’s my kinda ‘finished.’” Tweeted Morgan.

Saudi Arabia club Al-Nassr broke the bank for signing Cristiano Ronaldo. The Portugal icon, who dominated the game of football for more than 15 years shocked the world with his decision to move away from European football.
“In Europe, my work is done; I won everything, I played at the most important clubs in Europe. For me now, it’s a new challenge.” said Ronaldo on joining Al-Nassr and leaving European football. “This is a great opportunity. Nobody knows this, but I had many opportunities in Europe, many clubs in Brazil, Australia, the US, and even Portugal. Many clubs tried to sign me, but I gave my word to this club to develop not only the football but other parts of this amazing country.” he added.
Ronaldo is set to make nearly $200 million per year while playing in the Saudi Arabia Pro League. Ronaldo’s contract with Al-Nassr has made him the highest-paid footballer in the world at the moment.
Having played at the biggest clubs in almost every country like – Manchester United, Real Madrid, and Juventus, Ronaldo’s satisfaction can be understood. He also revealed rejecting deals from various clubs from different countries as he promised to make an impact in Saudi Arabia’s football.
