British TV personality and journalist Piers Morgan criticized Manchester United‘s manager Erik Ten Hag for dancing after the full-time whistle in United’s Carabao Cup victory over New Castle. Erik Ten Hag lifted his first trophy with United, as the Red Devil’s defeated Newcastle United 2-0 on February 26 to secure their first trophy since 2017. Piers Morgan tweeted Ten Hag’s viral dance video, stating it’s ‘unbelievable.’

“Can’t believe I am watching a Manchester United manager & players dancing with joy after winning the Carabao Cup. So embarrassing.” Erik Ten Hag, Lisandro Martinez and Antony were seen recreating the dance that Ten Hag performed during his Ajax days, after lifting a trophy. Interestingly, both Martinez and Antony played under Ten Hag last season in Ajax.

Manchester United’s Casemiro scored a header and Marcus Rashford forced an own goal by Sven Botman o seal a comfortable victory for Ten Hag on Sunday. The Red Devils enjoyed a positive week, after knocking Spanish Giants Barcelona out of the Europa League in a 2-1 comeback victory on February 24.

Piers Morgan has continuously criticized Manchester United manager Erik Ten Hag, mainly due to Ten Hag’s poor handling of Portuguese superstar Cristiano Ronaldo, which led to his exit from the club. Ronaldo heavily criticized Manchester United and Erik Ten Hag in his interview with Piers Morgan, which led to his contract being terminated at the club. Morgan also criticized Ten Hag’s signing of Wout Weghorst on loan from Burnley to try and replace Ronaldo.

Piers Morgan did not miss the chance to criticize Ten Hag and a few players from Manchester United’s dance celebration following their Carabao Cup victory, calling it “unbelievable,” and “embarrassing.” Football fans dropped interesting replies to Morgan’s viral tweet, which received over 8.2 million views on Twitter. “Thank you Piers, your interview with Ronaldo galvanized Manchester United and helped kickstart the club winning again.” A fan tweeted.

“It was definitely the right spirit, there is very good spirit in the team. We act as a team and fight for everything. We beat them, it was not always the best football but I think it was effective.” Erik Ten Hag praised Manchester United after their victory in a post-match interview. “They also challenge each other and, in moments, they help each other when it’s difficult. It’s great to see. I think it’s the best a manager can get.”
