According to recent reports, the Chelsea team was informed of their second managerial change of the season through an official club statement on social media. This decision came as a surprise to some players who were quick to contact their representatives following their announcement, reports the Telegraph. The players had reportedly undergone their recovery sessions and were heading home when the news regarding Potter’s dismissal broke out.

The English manager’s backroom staff have taken over the reins at the London Club, with Bruno Saltor acting as Interim Head Coach. However, according to reports the Chelsea hierarchy are not rushing into a decision looking for a replacement, anticipate interviewing a handful of candidates to succeed the Englishman as permanent Chelsea Boss.

According to recent reports, Todd Boehly is going to launch a long search to look for a suitable replacement for Potter. Instead of looking to sign a new manager instantly and try to salvage this season, the Chelsea hierarchy is more concerned with signing the right candidate for the job.

While big names such as Julien Nagelsmann and Mauricio Pochettino are available currently, Chelsea are willing to wait till the summer to sign the right fit to take over as manager for the upcoming season. The Blues are reportedly willing to let Bruno Saltor continue as interim head coach till the end of the season.

Julien Nagelsmann is emerging as a favourite to take over, and new Blues’ technical director Christian Vivell is reportedly pushing for him to take charge. Another name in contention for the job is Pochettino, who was allegedly interested in the job following Tuchel’s sacking.
