Paris-Saint-Germain is reportedly planning an astonishing £175m spree for Manchester City striker Erling Haaland. The club looks to pair Europe’s most prolific goalscorer Haaland with Kylian Mbappe in a bid to finally bring the Champions League title to Parc des Princes.
Paris Saint Germain saw their Champions League season torn down into shreds. They were recently knocked out of the tournament by the German Giants Bayern Munich. PSG’s whole project has been used a lot of doubts and questions and doubts in recent times. The club’s recent elimination from UCL came with new questions pointing to the fact whether the Qatari takeover can be considered a success so far.
With the UCL trophy being one of its major dreams of PSG, the club thinks Europe’s most prolific striker Erling Haaland is the answer to their questions. According to a French reporter Daniel Riola, Paris Saint Germain is exploring the options to pair Norway’s Erling Haaland and France’s Kylian Mbappe.
Haaland is enjoying a remarkable season in Manchester City. He has already scored 28 times in the Premier League alone. It has been suggested that Neymar and Lionel Messi could be moved on this summer from PSG. This would open up space on the club’s already-burgeoning wage bill for the Norwegian. A new story could be built at the club around the two players. Both Mbappe and Haaland are widely considered to be the continent’s best of the current generation.

“Nothing is decided yet”- Erling Haaland believes Manchester city can still beat Arsenal to the Premier League title
Erling Haaland is still convinced that Manchester City can beat Arsenal to the trophy. The former Borussia Dortmund striker had the dream start of his career in England under Pep Guardiola. Haaland has been helping his team from the front to keep pace with rival Arsenal.
The prolific Norwegian striker Haaland did his part to ensure the defending champions kept pace with leaders Arsenal by converting a penalty in City’s 1-0 victory over Crystal Palace on Saturday. Pep Guardiola’s side has 11 league games left, including a critical encounter with the Gunners at the Etihad on April 26, and Haaland is determined to ensure his debut season in English football is a memorable one.
Haaland, reportedly, on the club’s official website said, “With this gap, we just have to focus on ourselves, We have them (Arsenal) at home and a lot of games left to play still. Nothing is decided yet. I enjoy it (title race), this is England, this is what I’ve been watching my entire life. I enjoy every single second of it. It’s good to be in the middle of it.”
Saturday’s penalty was Haaland’s 34th goal for Manchester City after joining from Borussia Dortmund in May. It also brought him one closer to the Premier League record for goals scored by an individual player in one campaign. Earlier it was jointly held by Alan Shearer, who netted 34 for Blackburn Rovers in 1994-95, one season after Andy Cole did the same for Newcastle United. It ultimately took Haaland 78 minutes to find the back of the net at Selhurst Park after missing a good chance before the break.
In a post-match interview, Erling Haaland said, “Of course, I don’t like to miss chances. I had one in the first half that I should have scored, there was a small thing in the grass that made the ball bounce higher. Everyone knows how important this win is for us. We have to keep going. I say this every time but it’s the truth. It was not concerning for me when it was 0-0. I just do as I do every game, focus on my game. It’s not that bad, we have to keep going. As I said it’s not easy, but I’m proud.”
According to reports, Haaland believes Manchester city has to play in different ways. According to him as reported, other clubs have adapted to City’s traditional footballing style. And he was neither surprised nor scared by that. This is because he reportedly finds it very obvious as Manchester City has won four out of the last five seasons of the Premier League.
