Vinicius Jr. faced racist chants from the home fans at the Jose Zorilla stadium during their Ligue game against Real Valladolid this Friday. The Real Madrid forward was substituted in the second half of the game. As he walked toward his dugout, many fans at the stadium passed racist comments aimed at the 22-year-old Brazilian.

Racists keep going to the stadiums and watching the biggest club in the world up close, and laliga keeps doing nothing… I will continue with my head held high and celebrate my victories and Madrid’s. In the end, it’s my fault,” Vinicius protested against La Liga’s silence via Instagram. The Brazilian was subjected to racist abuse by Atletico Madrid fans back in September as well when Real Madrid played at Wanda Metropolitano.

Real Madrid won the away game 2-0, courtesy of their star-striker Karim Benzema‘s brace. Despite a convincing result, Los Blancos struggled to break the Valladolid defense till the dying minutes of the game. Benzema opened the scoring with a decisive penalty. He then scored another late goal to seal the game for the European Champions.
