“Referees in Spain lack empathy,” Gerard Pique differentiate between officiating in La Liga and Premier League
Gerard Pique talking about Spanish referees via his twitch account
Gerard Pique’s final match for FC Barcelona ended in unusual circumstances on Tuesday. The Spaniard’s ultimate opportunity to play was ruined by a half-time snit directed at La Liga referee Jesus Gil Manzano.
Gerard Pique, who is now retired, has provided his 1st interview since departing Barcelona and football. Typically, a lot of people were keen on how he left. Pique was sent off against Osasuna for rebelling against the referee’s judgments in the first half, and he was seen heading onto the pitch from the bench to talk with Jesus Gil Manzano.
Manzano stated in his report that Pique named him a disgrace as well as other things, which prompted him to dismiss the 35-year-old.
Pique refuted that edition of happenings while speaking on Twitch. Pique claims that Manzano altered the report to make Pique look worse. “Referees in Spain lack empathy. In the Premier League, they explain every single decision to you in detail.”, Pique said via his twitch account.
What’s next for FC Barcelona and Gerard Pique?
On Saturday, Pique said adieu to the Nou Camp after guiding Barcelona to a convincing 2-0 victory over Almeria. The weekend’s emotional applause from the home fans left the 35-year-old and his manager Xavi weeping.
Pique played for 85 minutes of the game and then appeared on the field with his sons Milan and Sasha, who served as the home team’s mascots. And it appears that his illustrious career at Barcelona, during which he won three Champions League trophies, eight LaLiga championships, and seven Spanish cups, will come to a disappointing conclusion after his halftime dismissal at the El Sadar Stadium.
That certainly is an idea to finish a career! Pique has likely settled any unresolved issues he may have had with Manzano. Whereas, Barcelona will not play again until December 31, when they face city opponents Espanyol in La Liga. Barcelona is five points ahead of second-placed Real Madrid, who hosts Cadiz on Thursday.
