RETRO LOOK: Real Madrid unveils its new kit for the 2022/23 season
Real Madrid has officially unveiled their home kit for the 2022-2023 season, which has a classic look and some purple details. Real Madrid legends Roberto Carlos, Raul Gonzalez, and Iker Casillas all feature in the club’s campaign to unveil their new shirt.
While the collar might not be popular, the rest of the design is simple, clean, and fresh. Real Madrid fans have been wanting to see purple on their uniforms for a while and the historic color will be back next season, as the away or alternate kits will likely have purple as their main color.
The font used is bringing back the classic font used during Real Madrid’s 100th anniversary in 2002, the year of Zinedine Zidane’s historic volley in the Champions League Final against Bayer Leverkusen for Madrid’s ninth European title.
What to expect from Real Madrid next season?
Los Blancos have gone for a retro look with a purple trim for the strip they’ll wear for the 2022/23 season and it promises to be an exciting campaign for the Spanish club. They’ll go into it as La Liga champions at least and there’s also the prospect of them being defending European champions.
Real Madrid has already won La Liga and is 12 points clear of Barcelona at the time of writing and they face Liverpool in the final of the Champions League in Paris on May 28th.
Madrid looks to add Antonio Rudiger and PSG sensation Kylian Mbappe at least as their marquee signing for next season and will look to get rid of deadwood such as Eden Hazard, Luka Jovic, Mariano Diaz, and Gareth Bale who will leave as a free agent.
