Liverpool forward Roberto Firmino has reached an agreement to join Barcelona as a free transfer in the coming transfer window. The Brazilian forward says he would join Xavi’s side after his contract with Liverpool ends in June 2023.

The Anfield hero has reportedly taken this decision after a lack of game time and place in Jurgen Klopp’s team. Firmino has only made 23 appearances for the Reds this season with only nine goals. The arrival of Coady Gakpo and Darwin Nunez has supposedly taken his position from the starting line-up.

The 31-year-old has been a part of Liverpool in major campaigns. The player had been an integral part of Liverpool’s Champions League win in 2019. The Brazilian forward has also been involved in Liverpool’s victory in the club world cup and Premier League title in the same year.

The Anfield boss Klopp wants Roberto Firmino to stay but the Brazilian forward has made up his mind. Anfield also saw the departure of Sadio Mane to Bayern Munich last year. The player has scored a total of 107 goals in his more than 350 appearances for the club. The Brazilian would become the eighth player after Luis Suarez and Phillipe Coutinho to play for both Barcelona and Liverpool.
