Gerard Pique and Shakira
This Christmas 2022 is far from being the same for Shakira as in previous years, due to her divorce from her long-time partner, Gerard Pique, the father of her two children, Milan and Sasha. This year, the couple’s children have spent the holidays away from Pique, and the singer wanted to explain her reasoning for the choice.
Shakira recently took a trip to Dubai, where she and her two children are spending their Christmas. She shared a photo on her Instagram of her holding a trained bird in her right arm, along with the caption, “In the desert looking for serenity this Christmas” She plans to stay in Dubai until December 30, when she will give the children back to their father so they can celebrate New Year’s Eve together.
Various media outlets have stated that the former couple had a disagreement over when the children should join Shakira in Miami. She had intended for them to move on January 5, while Gerard Pique wanted to wait until after the Three Kings Parade in Barcelona.
Shakira has decided to move to the United States with her children in accordance with a settlement reached with Gerard Piqué
Shakira is said to be moving to Miami along with her kids after she and Gerard Pique decided to part ways. The former couple has apparently worked out a plan regarding the care of their sons Milan and Sasha, releasing a joint statement to TMZ stating, “We have signed a custody agreement. Our sole objective is to provide our children with the utmost security and protection and hope that they can continue with their lives in a safe and calm environment,”
Shakira is getting ready to leave Barcelona and relocate to Miami in the coming year with her kids. She has a family already settled there and ended her 11-year relationship with Barcelona star Gerard Pique in June. The two of them first met at the 2010 FIFA World Cup and started dating afterward.
Shakira expressed that her current break-up has been the most challenging period she has ever faced in a discussion with Elle magazine in September.“I’ve remained quiet and just tried to process it all. It’s hard to talk about it, especially because I’m still going through it, and because I’m in the public eye and because our separation is not like a regular separation,” she said.
