Shakira launches missiles at Gerard Pique in latest song dedicated to children, calls him a ‘broken plate’

Shakira's latest song was more of a message to her children along with taking a dig at former partner.
Shakira released a new single, “Acróstico”, on Thursday and it’s a powerful open letter to her children, Milan and Sasha. Released just in time for Mother’s Day, the 46-year-old Barranquilla native says that her sons are the true loves of her life and the reason why she was able to move on after the retired football player Gerard Pique broke her heart. In the verses, the Spanish-language song also spells out her son’s names, Milan and Sasha.
“You taught me that love is not a scam and that when it’s real it doesn’t end. I tried to stop you from seeing me cry, I didn’t want you to see my fragility,” Shakira sings in the first verse, adding that she will always be there for them, “And even though life treated me like this, I will be strong just for you.”
The recording artist also references her split from Piqué in the second verse. She sings: “Although I don’t know how to turn the other cheek, learning to forgive is wise.” Shakira even advises her sons to be better and do better when things are not working out. “If things are damaged, don’t throw them away, repair them. Face your problems head-on. You have to laugh at life even though the wounds hurt,” she sings.
Shakira’s new release comes just days after she was honored at the inaugural Billboard Latin Women in Music gala as Woman of the Year. In her first public appearance since her recent move to Miami, she got a standing ovation as she gave an emotional speech in which she acknowledged the hard times she’s been through.
Hamilton is not Shakira’s only suitor with the Colombian linked to two Hollywood stars
Shakira’s social life has been at cruising speed in recent weeks. It seems that since Gerard Pique’s visit to Miami, to spend time with kids Sasha and Milan, everything has taken a turn and news about possible suitors for the Colombian has not stopped coming out. It all started at the Miami GP when no one expected to see Shakira in such good company. At her side, never leaving her side, was the actor Tom Cruise.
On the other hand, with Lewis Hamilton, there were already several dates, both dining in a restaurant and on a yacht ride, which sparked rumors that they could be a new couple. But, according to reports, Hamilton is not the only suitor linked to the Colombian, because there are two Hollywood actors who are interested in the Colombian, who is without a partner since her breakup with Pique last year.
First, actor Chris Evans, known for his role in ‘Captain America’, has publicly declared his admiration for Shakira, something he has done without hesitation in the various interviews that have been made lately. Evans would have competition with Henry Cavil, known for playing ‘Superman’. This famous Hollywood actor was surprised at an event where Shakira was and his face when he discovered that she was there gave him away since he could see a possible interest.
