Colombian Popstar Shakira is one of the most famous singers in the world. Her work is appreciated throughout the globe. The songstress has got quite a few top songs under her belt. Songs like “Waka Waka,” and “Whenever, Wherever”, are a few examples of her excellent singing. But one song that made Shakira a part of history was “Hips Don’t Lie”.
On June 17, 2006, Shakira’s “Hips Don’t Lie” reached the #1 spot in Billboard’s Hot 100 list. This achievement made her the only South American woman in history to reach this spot on this very prestigious chart with her creation.
The song was from the second singles album of Shakira. It became the summer anthem in 2006. This creation of Shakira was a proportionate mixture of South American Pop, Reggaeton, and the influence of world music. The song was co-produced by renowned producer Wyclef Jean, who also made a guest appearance in the video of the song. It spread throughout the world like an infection. People were madly in love with the song since its release.
During an interview with Billboard 2016, Shaikra talked about one of the biggest hits of her career. She said, “It was unconventional. One that almost didn’t get released.” Talking about the song she then added, “It had sounds that weren’t just interesting and fresh to the pop scene, but also ones that I was really excited to experiment with and share, like cumbia and typical Colombian folkloric percussion and instrumentation. They were also deeply personal, down to the reference to my hometown Barranquilla.”

Shakira sparks relationship speculations with Spanish Grand Prix’s stands
Shakira was seen at the stands of the Spanish GP on June 4. She returned to Barcelona just 2 months after she left to have a fresh start in Miami.
The Colombian Popstar returned to Barcelona for dropping her kids to her ex-partner Gerard Pique for their vacation. Although it seems she hit two birds with the same stone, as she was seen at the Spanish GP. It was the same competition in which the famous British F1 driver Lewis Hamilton was also participating.
Hamilton and Shakira has been spotted together quite a few times now. This presence of Shakira at the competition sparked the speculations even more that they might be romantically involved. The alleged couple was later seen enjoying dinner together.
Shakira was seen cozying up beside the F1 driver in a picture that caught them enjoying the dinner. They were also accompanied by their friends at the dinner.
