“They don’t do much work in the gym”- Xavi Simons compares PSG’s practice sessions with Barcelona

Barcelona academy graduate and young talent Xavi Simons has recently revealed his insight about how training is done at Barcelona and also compared it to PSG’s. He said, “Difference when I arrived at PSG? Believe me, at Barca they don’t do much work in the gym, they work with the ball, but not in the gym.”

Xavi Simons was regarded as the next big thing coming out from La Masia but he didn’t get enough playtime with the club and wasn’t happy with the situation. PSG reacted quickly to the situation and stole Barca’s wonder kid in the 2022 winter transfer window. Simons then spent around six months at PSG only to get sold to the Netherlands club PSV in August.

He is finally getting settled at a club after a failed career at PSG, and being just 19 years old he still has a lot of time to improve himself as a player and bring out the best version of himself as an individual as well. He was absolutely spot on in the Europa League matchup against Arsenal and got people talking about his talent yet again.

Will Xavi Simons reach the same high as a professional as he did at the youth level?

Xavi Simons represented Barcelona at the youth level.

Last night PSV Eindhoven played Arsenal in the Matchday 5 of the UEFA Europa League and youngster Xavi Simons was undoubtedly the star of the match as he saw his side beat Arsenal comfortably by two goals. Ruud van Nistelrooy’s side scored twice in the second half with goals coming from Joey Veerman and Luuk de Jong.

Simons on the other hand, who has been known by many football fans for a few years now, raised magic on the pitch with his skills and dribbles. In the first half, he dribbled his way past Arsenal’s defense in fine form and slotted home only for the goal to be disallowed for an offside in the build-up.
