“This is embarrassing, BTS should have nothing to do with football”-Fans react as BTS singer Jung Kook set to sing at 2022 FIFA World Cup opening ceremony

BTS member Jung Kook is set to perform at the opening ceremony of the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar. The opening ceremony will be on 20th November and he will also be a part of the World Cup soundtrack which was confirmed by BTS on Twitter. The tournament begins on the same day as the first match between the hosts and Ecuador is going to be played.

BTS wrote on Twitter saying, “Proud to announce that Jung Kook is part of the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 Soundtrack & will perform at the World Cup opening ceremony. Stay tuned!” Jung Kook is a worldwide pop artist and has given the world loads of blockbusters over the years. After the release of BTS’ album, Proof, in June, he also released a solo track “My You.”

He also did a collab with BTS’ member Suga for the song, “Stay Alive,” which appeared on the official soundtrack to the original webtoon from HYBE, 7FATES: CHAKHO. He did his first single, “Still With You,” in 2020 which was a part of the BTS’ annual Festa party, and his first solo album, Indigo, is set to release on 2nd Dec this year.
