The timing was surprising, I didn’t expect it and there was no contact beforehand. I assumed that I would continue my career abroad. The first interview was on Tuesday evening.”

Thomas Tuchel is back in work having replaced Julian Nagelsmann as the head coach of Bayern Munich. And he plans to raid his old side as he looks to bolster his coaching staff. He’s confirmed his intention to add Chelsea’s Anthony Barry to his team at Bayern.

Speaking after being unveiled as Bayern boss, Tuchel revealed his coaching staff. He mentioned Barry, who’s currently with the Premier League club. At the press conference, he said, “My coaching staff wasn’t prepared either, so a big thank you to their families for their flexibility.
