Wales National team forced to postpone their FIFA World Cup training session in Qatar due to ‘heat’

The Wales national football team was forced to postpone their FIFA World Cup training sessions due to the staggering heat in Qatar with temperatures rising to about 30 degrees. It’s November and winter is almost knocking at the doors but still, the heat in Qatar is not going anytime soon and it will give the players a hard time playing in such conditions.

Wales coach Rob Page has also praised the management and their efforts in dealing with such grave conditions and making the tournament a success. Because of the heat, Wales was to start their daily sessions at 1:30 pm local time but had to reschedule their training sessions to 4 pm in the evening.

Then they will face Iran on November 25, and in their last group match, they will be against Gareth Southgate’s England on November 29.

What did Rob Page say about the management and settlements made by Qatar ahead of the big tournament?

Rob Page was very happy with the efforts the hosts had made ahead of the World Cup to make the tournament a success saying, “They’ve done their best to accommodate that (the heat). I went to the stadium where we play our three games, which is exceptional. They’ve put air conditioning units all around the pitch, I could feel it from where I stood.”

He added, “I’m not so sure the players will feel it from the middle of the pitch, and certainly, our supporters won’t from the top of the stand.” This is the first time the World Cup is been held in the winter months and it is because the temperatures of Qatar in summer months can rise up to 40 degrees Celsius.
