A Saudi Arabia fan has taken over the headlines after removing his home country’s jersey and switching it with Robert Lewandowski’s Poland shirt after the veteran striker scored the first World Cup goal of his career. Poland won their second FIFA World Cup game against the middle-eastern team 2-0 at the Education City stadium as they strengthened their chances of going to the knockout stages.

The fan went viral for this hilarious act that has often been seen by fans as a part of a joke. The supporter yelled “Robert Lewangoalski, Robert Lewangoalski” after his steal and a late goal to cushion the Polish side with a 2-goal lead.

Saudi Arabia who made Argentina’s opening night of the tournament a nightmare expected to do something similar today at the Education City Stadium. Although, they were unable to seek a way past the Polish defense.

Saudi Arabia also received a penalty in the first half well saved by the Polish goalkeeper Wojciech Szczesny. He gave a solid performance along with his defenders as the goalkeeper made a few fine saves throughout 90 minutes.

Robert Lewandowski was deemed to be the Man of the Match of this game after assisting the first goal and scoring the second. Poland now sees itself at the top of Group C. A win or a draw in their next game against Argentina would make sure they would go through to the knockoff stages.
