“We need him,” Man United boss Erik Ten Hag eager to see Marcus Rashford signing long term contract with the Red Devils
Rashford whose contract ends in 2024, has seen a resurgence in form this season and has become a key player for the club.

Erik Ten Hag and Marcus Rashford
Erik ten Hag, the head coach of Manchester United, has publicly stated that Marcus Rashford understands that Manchester United is his club and he is playing his best football there. He also emphasized the importance of Rashford to the team, saying “We need him”.
The Mancunian signed his last contract extension back in 2019. The four-year contract saw him become one of the highest earners in the club earning £200,000 per week. However, Rashford’s contribution to the club’s recent form is more than the numbers. His performance has uplifted the team and often he has been the sole attacking outlet for the club. His strike partners, Athony Martial, Anthony and Jadon Sancho have all been underwhelming thus far.
Rashford setting the pitch alight
Rashford has been in sublime form this season for both club and country this season. He has already tripled his goal-tally from last year. In 27 games in all competitions, the mercurial frontman has scored 17 goals and provided four assists and that is excluding his three goals in the World Cup. He leads the charts in UEFA Europa League in goals per 90 with 1.3.
He has also looked fit and confident in recent days. His composure in front of goal, confidence while running at defenders and ability to grab the game by the scruff of the neck have also gone through the roof under the Dutch manager.

The Red Devils have turned around from the early scare in the opening weeks of the season. Despite having a thin squad, Ten Hag has managed to climb up the PL table as games come in thick and fast. Their 9-game unbeaten streak was recently broken after an entertaining 3-2 defeat in the hands of the league leaders, Arsenal.

Contract Talk

Ten Hag also mentioned that the contract talks between the club and Rashford are confidential, but he is pushing for a new long-term deal to get done. Ten hag is committed to keeping Rashford at the club, and he believes that the player is an important part of the team’s success.
Rashford, who is out of contract at the end of next season, has been in impressive form this season, scoring 17 goals for United in all competitions. He has attracted interest from Paris Saint-Germain and other top clubs in Europe.

The former Los Blancos man that changed the fortunes at Old Trafford
Casemiro’s arrival to Manchester United has already been considered as the club’s best signing in the past 10 years. The versatile Brazilian has not only consolidated Manchester United’s midfield, but also his line-breaking passes have come extremely handy as Rashford is at his lethal best when attacking free-space behind opposition defence.

The Brazilian midfielder has been able to bring solidity and leadership to the team, and has shown a never-say-die mentality and determination that characterized United teams for nearly 30 years under Sir Alex Ferguson.
Despite not being a goal-scorer, Casemiro’s contributions to the team have been vital for United’s recent success. The club hadn’t had much success in the transfer market in the past decade, making Casemiro’s signing almost a masterstroke.
