Italy are looking to be the best side in the tournament as they brushed aside Belgium with some fine football and Denmark continued their fairytale as they face England in the semis, while Italy will take on Spain in the other semi final. With the finest goal getters of the game battling out in the EURO 2020, the race for who comes out is getting hotter.
Let’s take a look at the top scorer of the EURO 2020 at the end of Round 16
Cristiano Ronaldo (Portugal) – 5 goals
Cristiano Ronaldo topping the goal scoring chart at a tournament is like the inevitable unfolding right before our eyes. Despite crashing out in the Rounf of 16 Ronaldo still leads the chart. He equalled Ali Daei’s record of 109 international goals. The Portuguese broke Michael Plattini’s record for most goals at European Championship. Ronaldo had scored a brace in the opening game vs Hungary and grabbed another vs Germany. Against France, Ronaldo scored twice from the spot as Portugal advanced to the Round of 16 where they were beaten by Belgium. Unfortunately Ronaldo could not add anymore to his tally in that game, leaving space for others to overtake him.

Patrick Schick (Czech Republic) – 5 goals
The Czech international has been the revelation of the tournament so far. Patrick Schick announced himself on the big stage and etched his name in the football folklore as he scored an outrageous goal from the halfway line vs Scotland in the opening game and added another one. He scored a penalty against Croatia in the group stage match, before he scored an all important goal against Netherlands as Czech Republic shocked Netherlands 2-0 in the Round of 16. He added to his tally in the quarterfinal vs Denmark, however the Czech crashed out ending a fine run in the tournament.

Karim Benzema (France) – 4 goals
The Real Madrid star was recalled to the French side by Didier Deschamps before the EURO 2020 after 5 years of exile from the team. Benzema made up for the lost years and repaid the faith showed in him as he scored 4 goals. Benzema scored a brace in the final group stage game against Portugal after drawing blank in the first two games. Benzema had looked to have got into the goal scoring form as he scored a brace against Switzerland in the Round of 16 match but it was not enough as Switzerland defeated France on penalties.

Emil Forsberg (Sweden)- 4 goals
Emil Forseberg has been another surprise package. The RB Leipzig man has netted four times this EURO 2020. Forsberg scored a penalty against Sweden’s win over Slovakia. Forsberg netted a brace including the second fastest goal in European Championship in the match against Poland as Sweden topped their group. He even scored the equalizing goal vs Ukraine in the Round of 16 but a dramatic 120th min goal from Ukraine’s Artem Dovbyk, meant that Forsberg’s tournament ended here.

Romelu Lukaku ( Belgium) – 4 goals
Romelu Lukaku has become a very improved player since his move to Inter Milan in the Serie A, after having endured a torrid spell at Manchester United. Lukaku came into the tournament with an incredible goal scoring season at Inter, where he finished as the second top scorer in Serie A behind Cristiano Ronaldo. For Belgium, Lukau has scored a brace in their opening game vs Russia, and scored in Belgium’s 2-0 win over Finland. Lukaku came short against the Italians in the quaterfinal match, but he scored from the spot to increase his tally, but Belgium were knocked out.
