Wilfried Zaha to Tottenham: Club looking to sign the winger in summer

According to the recent reports published in several media outlets, Tottenham Hotspur are set to rival Everton in the pursuit of signing Wilfried Zaha from Crystal Palace. The star attacker is targetted by the North London based-outfit as they see the former Manchester United player as a replacement for Harry Kane.

On the other hand, the Merseysiders, Everton are also interested in securing the services of Wilfried Zaha from Crystal Palace. Everton have a long-standing interest in the player and even offered a deal close to £70 million in 2019. However, the deal did not materialize and they signed Alex Iwobi from Arsenal on the deadline day.

Tottenham, who are themselves without a permanent manager at present, are monitoring the situation, and could have the means to make a move, especially if Harry Kane departs.

In the recent times, Wilfried Zaha opened upon a move away from Selhurst Park. Talking to The Face, the Ivory Coast winger said:

I feel like I can have another shot at the top teams, because my dream is to win things. I’m good enough to go out there and compete with the best. If the opportunity came, I wouldn’t turn it down, because I feel like I deserve it. It’s so I can show my kids: 'This is what daddy won'.

Wilfried Zaha was a key man for Roy Hodgson’s side in 2020/21 season alongside Eberechi Eze. The Crystal Palace forward scored 11 goals and has two assists to his name in 30 appearances for his side. He has just two years remaining in his contract and the player is valued at €45 million by the club.

Previously, Zaha was linked with another London outfit, Arsenal, but the move did not materialize as Crystal Palace decided not to sell their star forward. However, the Gunners’ interest has cooled down as they want to sign Emi Buendia from the newly promoted side Norwich City. It remains interesting to see if Daniel Levy captures the former Manchester United player from Crystal Palace.
