Adam Pearce won the Gauntlet match on the latest episode of WWE Smackdown. The win in the match has earned Pearce the opportunity to challenge Roman Reigns for the Universal Championship. They face each other at WWE’s Royal Rumble.

WWE Hall of Famer The Iron Sheik took to Twitter to react to the match. He mentioned that Pearce should win against Reigns and win the Championship. Otherwise, Sheik will beat up Pearce. He also mentioned that Pearce has always shown respected towards him and the business.

Prior to the match, Pearce was not announced to participate in the match. Reigns and Paul Heyman pulled some strings to include the WWE official into the match. In fact, Reigns and Uso beat up Shinsuke Nakamura to help Pearce win. Nakamura was the initial winner, before Pearce entered the match.

Adam Pearce’s wrestling career

The WWE Universe might not be aware, but Adam Pearce is a pro-wrestling veteran. He is also a five-time NWA World Champion. Pearce knows what is it like to be a wrestling Champion. But Pearce has not wrestled since 2014.

The current WWE official has been away from active in-ring career for nearly 7 years. This itself would pose a challenge for Pearce to put up a fight against Reigns. The Universal Champion, on the other hand, is arguably in the best phase of his career.

Roman Reigns is not the only challenge that Pearce will be facing. Uso will also be there to assist his cousin during their match. They face off at WWE’s Royal Rumble. The PPV airs live on 31st January, 2021.
