Australian GP 2022: List of 10 previous winners of the race
F1, this global carnival, now moves to Melbourne to host the Australian GP. This is the home Grand Prix of the ever so happy and enthusiastic, Daniel Ricciardo. It has been the hunting ground for Mercedes and Ferrari in the last few years. With the race being cancelled due to the COVID-19 restrictions in the last two years, it’s set to make a return this year around. The Australian GP has been held at 23 different venues since its first run at Phillip Island in 1928. The last one was held in Adelaide and this one is set to take place in Melbourne.
Let’s look at the winners from the past 10 years.

There seems to be something about F1 this year. The sport seems to picked up that pace on and off the track. The traction that F1 has been getting, ever since the Netflix series “Drive To Survive” and an incredible season, is unprecedented. The fans seem to be more up for the upcoming events and there has been a shift in the age group of the people watching the sport. This seems to be the new era.

Mercedes and Ferrari have dominated the Australian GP in the recent years but it might be about to change

Mercedes’ Lewis Hamilton, ex Mercedes driver, Valtteri Bottas and ex Ferrari man, Sebastian Vettel had dominated the circuit in the last few years but this year it could be different with Charles Leclerc and Max Verstappen looking a step ahead of everyone. After what we saw in the first two races, it seems like going in one direction only.
“Two races into the 2022 campaign and a new era of Formula 1 and it is already abundantly clear that it is Ferrari and Red Bull who have started with the fastest cars and their star drivers Leclerc and Verstappen appear primed to enjoy a fascinating season-long battle.”
“It’s one race apiece for Leclerc and Verstappen so far, with each 24-year-old driver having out-duelled the other for their well-earned victories in Bahrain and Saudi Arabia.” As reported by skysports.
Nothing is guaranteed in F1 but with the evidence in front of us, it might be a sprint to the checkered flag for Charles Leclerc and Max Verstappen yet again. Let’s hope for a pulsating race in less than a week’s time in Melbourne.
