Christian Horner the RedBull team Principal believes that he does not have any doubt that Max will be the superior driver if Max and lewis are given the same car. Christian has praised Max for what he has achieved with RedBull and has emphasized the fact that Max was in a lesser performing car during the latter half of the 2021 Formula1 season.

It has been stated in racingnews365 that Christian Horner believes it was all down to Max Verstappen that they were able to stay close to the Mercedes in the latter half of the season. In his opinion, Max was able to get everything out of the car in terms of performance and has stated that as the main reason behind RedBull and Max Verstappen’s 2021 triumph.

Christian Horner while talking about Lewis has said “You can’t deny what Lewis has achieved, he’s one of the absolute greats and statistically the most successful in history.”

He has further added that “But you put Max and Lewis in the same Mercedes car, and I have no doubt who would come out on top. Put Lewis is our car, and I also have no doubt who would come out on top.”

Christian Horner believes Max Verstappen can do anything and thinks that he is often not given the kind of credit that he deserves.

Christian believes Max Verstappen’s superiority is very evident from the driver statistics and Max Verstappen has always been the stronger driver at RedBull as compared to his teammates, while on the other hand, he cannot say the same about Lewis.

He thinks at Mercedes there was not a lot of difference between Lewis and Valtteri in terms of performance, and the same was the case when Nico Rosberg was at Mercedes.

In his opinion, Max is the superior driver and believes he is the main reason why they were able to win the driver’s championship. Christian is in awe of Max for his performance during the 2021 season and has said “He’s been absolutely outstanding. Sometimes that gets overlooked, what he is able to achieve in a car with less horsepower and less performance than his rival.”

Max Verstappen was able to win his maiden driver’s title during the 2021 season after a controversial ending to the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix.
