“Far Away from Victory”: Toto Wolff After Lewis Hamilton Tops Rain Interrupted Practice Session

It just doesn’t seem like Formula 1 2021’s second half has started with full stigma. As the Dutch Grand Prix was witnessed enduring the same fate as what happened at Spa-Francorchamps earlier. With heavy rain pouring down, it was the seven-time world champion Lewis Hamilton who managed to top the first practice session 1:11:500, yet Toto Wolff has not the one to raise his hopes up after the initial success.

To those who aren’t aware, the first practice session lasted only 22 minutes with the rain pouring down heavily. In a red-flagged practice session, it was tough for drivers to hold their composure. But Lewis Hamilton seems to be determined to upset the Dutch fans. But even after the first practice session, Wolff feels that it is just momentum being built.

What was Opinionated by Toto Wolff?

Toto Wolff stated as quoted by GPBlogs, “We are far away from victory because its only Friday, but I have always loved coming to Zandvoort with DTM and Formula 3. I remember Valtteri winning the Masters twice here and it’s always good times here, also seeing the crowds here is amazing,” Wolff said on Sky Sports’ camera. “Everybody loves it [the track]. Its ultra-high-speed dunes at the beginning and the banking I haven’t heard from them yet.”

There weren’t many fast laps driven yet. The drivers were mainly scouting the track and waiting for Sebastian Vettel’s car to move off the asphalt. “I don’t think we have seen the laps that some of the drivers could have done but everybody seems to be improving. I am quite curious to see how it goes this afternoon.”
