“He Kept Making Mistakes”: Fernando Alonso Cannot Compare Battles Against Lewis Hamilton and Michael Schumacher

Fernando Alonso, Michael Schumacher and Lewis Hamilton
When Fernando Alonso held off Lewis Hamilton at the Hungarian Grand Prix 2021, the two-time World Champion was widely hailed for his masterpiece display of composure and calm against the big names. Many even went onto compare that battle with the one’s Alonso had with Michael Schumacher, especially a particular duel in Iola in 2005. However, Fernando Alonso doesn’t think that those spoken about duels are comparable.
Those who are not aware, Fernando Alonso held off Michael Schumacher in much faster Ferrari at Imola in 2005, where he kept sweeping away attack after attack from the much faster Ferrari driver. To which on a recent occasion, Alonso clearly stated that the duel in Hungary against Hamilton cannot be competed against those with Schumacher.
What was Opinionated by Fernando Alonso Upon Duels with Hamilton and Schumacher?

“Michael Schumacher was three or four tenths faster at that time. Lewis Hamilton had an advantage of one and a half seconds with the car and about one second with the tyres, so he had an advantage of two and a half seconds,” Alonso told DAZN.
The Alpine driver therefore expected Hamilton to pass him much sooner, but noted that he kept choosing the wrong lines. “He kept making the same mistakes in the last few corners. I was waiting for him to take the last corner normally and overtake before the first corner, like he did with Carlos.“

“He should have done the same with me, but he kept making mistakes,” Fernando Alonso concluded.
Having said that, with the 2021 Formula 1 is all to re-start with less than a week’s time, all eyes will be on the Spanish veteran driver and whether he can build upon his good form before heading into the break at Belgium.
