Toto Wolff the Mercedes team principal has recently shared his opinion on the competition during the 2022 season and also on the new regulations that are designed to reduce the gap between the Formula1 teams.

It has been stated in GPblog that Toto Wolff has been left amazed after looking at the new cars for the 2022 season and believes that no matter what the other teams have done, they are ready for the fight.

Mercedes team has been dominating the Formula1 championship ever since the turbo-hybrid era started in 2014 and has lost out on the driver’s title only once and that was last year when RedBull had a car capable of competing against Mercedes.

Toto believes if they are to secure the title this year then he and his team would have to work their socks off during the season and make sure that they are performing at the absolute best during the whole course of the 2022 season.

Toto Wolff is fascinated after looking at the various car designs for the 2022 season and has said “Obviously from a fan’s perspective, which I count myself in as well, looking at the other concepts and seeing what everybody comes out with, and the interpretation of the regulations is fascinating.”

On the basis of the first pre-season testing, it is expected that Mercedes and RedBull are going to be challenged by McLaren and Ferrari during 2022 and as far as Toto is concerned he has stated that Mercedes is totally ready for the challenges during 2022 Formula1 season.

Mercedes has got a very strong lineup for the upcoming season with the ever-present Lewis Hamilton and the young shining star of Formula1 that is George Russell.

They have got the dream line up for 2022 and now it is going to be up to the team to present their star drivers with a car that would be able to compete against the lights of RedBull, Ferrari, and McLaren. The second testing in Bahrain is just around the corner and it is going to be important for Mercedes that they are able to sort their car completely, given the first race is also taking place at the same venue.
