Lando Norris has defended his recent move to Monaco

Lando Norris the McLaren Formula1 driver has moved to Monaco from his native place Woking in the United Kingdom. Fans of the sport have not taken his move to Monaco in good spirits and for this, he has come under a lot of criticism. Lando Norris during the 2021 Formula1 season was able to finish sixth in the championship and was able to secure four podium finishes as well.
It has been stated in Formula1news that Lando Norris has recently replied to all the criticism that he has been getting ever since his permanent move to Monaco. Over the years Monaco has become commonplace for Formula1 drivers as it is Tax heaven where most of the wealthy folk prefer to live.
Lando Norris is the latest formula1 driver to find a home for himself in Monaco. The previous driver to move there permanently was Williams driver Alex Albon who moved to Monaco in 2019.
Lando while talking about his move has said “It’s not been something I’ve been thinking of for a very long time and I was very happy being where I have been for the last two years.”
He has further added that during his early days in racing it was very beneficial to live in Woking as it was near to his team but has on the other hand said that the benefit has saturated over the years.
Lando Norris: reasons behind his move to Monaco
Lando when asked about the reasons said “The reasons are very obvious and I have said the reasons why.”
“There’s probably drivers in the paddock here who get to F1 and make some decisions because they expect their career in F1 to maybe be 10 years, and it can turn into one year or two years.”
Lando Norris believes his move to Monaco is going to be financially beneficial for him in the long run. To support his statement he said that “This can be life changing for yourself for 20,30,40 years of time. Anyone else in the world in my position would also do something very similar.”
He is very optimistic that his move to Monaco is going to reap great rewards for him in the future and believes he has done the same thing that most of the other Formula1 drivers have done.
