Lewis Hamilton lost out on the chance to secure a record-breaking 8th world Title in 2021 thanks to a controversial unlapping decision from race director Michael Masi, allowing Red Bull’s Max Verstappen to overtake him and secure his Maiden F1 title, in season finisher at Abu Dhabi. Lewis Hamilton and team Mercedes were left speechless following the decision and Lewis Hamilton decided to keep himself away from public flatforms. He unfollowed everyone on Instagram and didn’t attend the mandatory F1 gala prompting retirement rumors.

Now Lewis Hamilton has broken the social Media silence as he took part in a video wishing Chinese fans a happy Chinese New Year. In a short five-second clip uploaded in Weibo, Chinese social Media platform, on the official Mercedes team handle, Lewis Hamilton seen wishing Chinese F1 fans a happy Lunar New Year aka Chinese New Year.

I wish you a Happy Chinese New Year. May the New Year bring you good luck and everything you wish for,” Lewis Hamilton said.

Lewis Hamilton announces school initiative breaking his ‘Media’ silence

The Sky Media group have announced that they will be partnering with Lewis Hamilton’s Mission 44 foundation in an effort to combat racism

7-times world champion Lewis Hamilton has broken the media silence announcing his charitable foundation Mission 44’s new mission partnering with Sky Group aimed at keeping under-privileged children in schools. In a press release published by sky sports Lewis Hamilton reflects on the importance of addressing students’ exclusion reiterating his experience from the past. He added that the mission aims meaningful change in school exclusion especially of people of colour.

Understanding and addressing issues that lead to young people being excluded from school is really important to me,” says Lewis Hamilton.

Having experienced unfair exclusions during my time at school, I understand how upsetting and stressful it can be,” Lewis Hamilton added.

When we launched Mission 44 last year, implementing initiatives such as these was a personal priority and I am grateful to have the support of Sky to help Mission 44 take action. Through this partnership, I hope we can deliver meaningful change by arming schools with the proper strategies to support and empower young Black students instead of giving up on them,” Lewis Hamilton explained.

Lewis Hamilton is expected join Mercedes and his new partner George Russell for 2022 and will be hoping to produce another title winning run against defending champion Max Verstappen. But the FIA’s investigation report on the Abu Dhabi decision which will come out 2 days before the 2022 season beginner in Bahrain is of importance as it might affect Lewis Hamilton’s decision to comeback to the grid.
