George Russell and Lewis Hamilton

Lewis Hamilton is the maestro of Formula who had been on the summit of the sport for the longest time before being dethroned by the current world champion Max Verstappen last year. ‘Super Max‘ decided to put ‘max‘ pressure on the seven time world champion which put him in an uncomfortable situation. Lewis Hamilton was ruffled and looked out of sorts for the best part of the season.

With the kind of success that Mercedes enjoyed in 2020 season, nobody saw that coming. This could have happened due to many reasons. But, prima facie, it seemed like Lewis Hamilton couldn’t deal with a young driver who was aggressive and hungrier to win the trophy. This situation can occur again. This time, it might happen between the two Mercedes drivers George Russell and Lewis Hamilton.

Lewis Hamilton has been Mercedes’ number 1 driver, despite whatever is said in the media because actions speak louder than words. Valtteri Bottas always sacrificed his own ambitions to ensure that Lewis Hamilton continues to stay on the top. But the situation might be about to change with the introduction of George Russell, who’ll be willing to make a mark at the grandest stage of them all.

Former two time Formula 1 world champion Mika Hakkinen suspects that George Russell might irritate Lewis Hamilton in his quest to be the number 1 driver. He said, “I believe and I know from my experience that Lewis is relatively sensitive.

“He is a sensitive person. When Valtteri was Lewis’ team-mate, the teamwork was perfect.”

Now, the support he’s going to get from Russell…The teamwork could be lost. That’s where Lewis can become irritated.”

“I’m sure Max will be faster than ever, I know from my experience that a title is about two-tenths per lap faster.” As reported by planetf1.

Lewis Hamilton might find himself in a precarious situation. He might have to fend off attacks from both Max Verstappen and George Russell who will be looking to beat him for different reasons. Former world champion might have scored a podium but he definitely looked off color in Bahrain. The next race is in less than a week’s time in Saudi Arabia.
