To those who are not aware, the seven-time world champion, Lewis Hamilton secured the nail-biting victory while sporting a Progress Pride helmet in support of the LGBT+ community. Since arriving in Saudi Arabia, Hamilton has voiced his concerns about the kingdom’s LGBT+ laws. The driver said he felt “duty bound” to speak out and called the criminalisation of gay sex in the area “pretty terrifying”. Which made Ralf Schumacher very critical upon his political views.
The former F1 driver and younger brother Michael Schumacher said he had no problem with the British driver voicing his opinion, but it became problematic when Hamilton did so in a Mercedes suit.

Ralf Schumacher on Lewis Hamilton
Ralf Schumacher told Sport1 last year as quoted by Express.co.uk, “His values are very important and he can represent them on Instagram and the other social networks. The only question is why he always has to do it in a Mercedes suit and on the racetrack.
“It can be polarising. If the drivers rush into things like that too much it is dangerous ‒ the sport doesn’t deserve that. I am firmly convinced that sport and politics must not be combined. And if it is, it is definitely not the job of the driver.
Having said that, F1 fans can expect Lewis Hamilton rainbow-colored helmet to make another appearance as he confirmed he intends to wear the inclusive Helmet in all the Middle East-based races.
