When Lewis Hamilton lost his 8th world championship to Max Verstappen in controversial manner at Yas Marina, it broke the heart of the seven-time world champion. Although apart from the catastrophic decision by Michael Masi, Verstappen made use of his car and tyres to the best, but in the process, Hamilton did not only lose his silverware but almost the motivation to carry in Formula as revealed by team boss Toto Wolff. 

Furthermore, the Austrian revealed that he is in regular talks with Hamilton and will make sure such an incident doesn’t take place but safe to say, it feels like the 36-years-old will have to bring himself emotionally as well as physically back on the race track as the 2022 season is only going to get intense. Having said that, the 24-years-old Dutchman also delivered advice for his title rival, ahead of a fun-filled night in Paris at the FIA prize-giving gala.

Both Wolff and the seven-time world champion have opted to snub the Paris ceremony, of which Verstappen will be the main attraction.  On the same note Max Verstappen advised Lewis Hamilton as per Express.co.uk, “Of course, I can understand that the first few days, after a race like that, you’re not happy. You should also understand this is racing and these things can happen to you.”

“I think he should just look back at what he has achieved, and that should give him a lot of comfort and that drive to keep on going. He is still trying to challenge for that eighth title, and he can do that again next year, so I don’t see any reason why to give up or stop now.” 

Having said that, Max Verstappen’s advice demonstrates that he is clearly not afraid of the fight, with F1 as a whole buoyant from the show-stopping battles contested by the duo this year. Come the 2022 season, will Lewis Hamilton make his intentions clear-cut about winning the race or has Max Verstappen killed off the thunder? Only time will unravel all answers.
