Max Verstappen is the present and the future of Red Bull for the next few years. His current contract was set to run out in 2023 but Red Bull was in no mood to let their jewel crown leave at any cost. Red Bull has reportedly broken the bank to keep Max Verstappen in their line-up after the heroics of last season.
Max Verstappen has been one of the most consistent drivers of F1. He has been up there with Lewis Hamilton who has had a better car than him. The current world champion has given Hamilton a run for his money and even got the better off him breaking Mercedes’ and Lewis Hamilton’s dominance over the driver’s championship.
In the wake of such impressive performances, Red Bull has decided to reward this fiesty Dutchman who has shown the hunger to remain at the top. The new contract will last for the next four years, at least and will cost Red Bull a hefty sum of 40 million dollars and the deal is done and dusted and can be announced at any moment.
Max Verstappen has been prolific for the Milton Keynes outfit and has rightly been rewarded for the same
Max Verstappen joined in 2015 when he left Alpha Tauri (then Toro Rosso) and the rest as we say, is history. The Dutch man only took a grand total of 4 races before he thrusted into the parent team and his commitment to the Milton Keynes based team has been unquestionable and he expressed that after the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix last year.
Max Verstappen said, “To my team, I think they know I love them and I hope we can do this for 10 or 15 years together.”
“There is no reason to change, ever. I want to stay with them for the rest of my life and hope they let me.” As reported by gpfans.
The deal seems to be now done and dusted. It might not be confirmed officialy but the confirmation is imminent.
A Red Bull source allegedly told, “It has all been agreed. Max is staying for a long time, maybe even five years extra. It also equates to a substantial financial rise, virtually doubling his money.” As reported by mirror.co.uk.
Max Verstappen has deserved every bit of recognition and appreciation that the world champion via this potentially new contract. Now as this is done and dusted, he can solely focus on defending his crown.
