Paddy Power shells out for Lewis Hamilton title win
Paddy Power
Paddy Power the prominent betting site has claimed in a statement that they have decided to pay out on those people who decided to bet on Lewis Hamilton winning the Formula1 2021 title as well as on Max Verstappen Winning the title.
It has been stated in racingnews365 that Paddy Power the Irish online betting company has decided to pay out for punters who opted to bet on Lewis Hamilton during the 2021 Abu Dhabi Grand Prix. In their opinion “Justice is served” as they have paid out on people who bet for Lewis Hamilton.
In their opinion, Lewis Hamilton should have been crowned as the 2021 Formula1 world champion. To show their resentment against the decision the Irish betting company has decided to pay out on both Lewis Hamilton and Max Verstappen.
Lewis Hamilton was in a commanding position for most of the race and it was only after Micheal Masi’s controversial decision that Max was able to get the jump on Lewis Hamilton with the help of a fresh pair of soft tires on the last lap of the Grand Prix.
The controversial ending of the race did not sit well with the Mercedes team and they decided to file two complaints with the FIA. The Mercedes team after a lot of deliberation finally decided to withdraw their complaints.
Paddy Power with a tough decision
It is not easy, especially for a betting company to shell out cash for both the outcomes and it is very rare. For Paddy Power to pay cash for both Max and Lewis winning tells a lot about what they think of the outcome. In their opinion, the incident of the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix was a “sporting injustice.”
Max Verstappen for most of the race was in no position to win and it was only down to a miracle of sorts that Max was able to get his hands on the 2021 Formula1 title. The FIA team completely ignored the rule book just to make sure that the entertainment value of the race didn’t go down.
In Paddy Power’s opinion, this was not right and they decided to pay out on Max and Lewis winning the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix as well.
They concluded their statement by saying “consider justice served.”
