Sebastian Vettel urges Aston Martin to not expect any surprises in season finale
Aston Martin
The four-time world champion Sebastian Vettel is not very hopeful that they would be able to do anything spectacular at the last race of the season and is looking to do the maximum that would be possible this Sunday at the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix. He is willing to give his all this weekend but is not very optimistic about getting good points to finish the season for the team.
This season has been a disappointing season for the Silverstone-based Aston Martin. They have been well off the pace of their midfield competitors and are finding themselves in 7th in the championship table. This is very evident in what the previous four-time world champion Sebastian Vettel told Planetf1. He was seen quoting ” No miracles we can expect, unfortunately, but we’ll see.”
Tumultuous times for Aston Martin
They were decent in the early part of the season or at least they were close in the midfield battle. But in the last 14 races, the gap between them and the others has widened further and further. While teams like Alpine and Alpha Tauri have been able to find the next gear, they seem to have gone in reverse.
Sebastian Vettel in the previous 14 races have only managed to score 18 points and the same goes for his teammate Lance Stroll who has also not done well in the same number of races. Currently, they are 143 points behind Alpha Tauri who is in 6th position and 172 points behind the Alpine formula1 team.
Sebastian Vettel at Abu Dhabi Grand Prix
All the teams took to the newly designed Yas Marina Circuit this Friday and were quite pleased with the new changes. The same was the case for Sebastian Vettel and Lance Stroll who seem to have enjoyed the new circuit layout as well. Sebastian Vettel was happy with the open corner entries as he felt that drivers were able to carry a lot more speed into the apex and were also very pleased with the banked corner around turn 9.
Lance is starting in his 100th race this Sunday and he would be hoping to get a good result for the team. They have been on the back of the grid on most occasions this season and but they would be hoping that are at least able to finish the race as high as possible when the chequered flag falls for the last time this season.
