“We Are Pushing the Team Forward Together”: Sergio Perez Believes to Improve Form Drastically Alongside Max Verstappen

Before entering the 2021 Formula 1 season, red Bull were constantly struggling to find a second driver who would match the performances of Max Verstappen race faster race. With Sergio Perez being brought in, the Mexican driver did take up his required time to handle the new challenger. But once he did, Perez was appreciated throughout, especially when he fetched maximum points for his team at Imola. But his past races going into the break were surely not helpful to improve his claim for next year. 

But with reports of Pierre Gasly stealing his seat for the next season buzzing in, Perez still is hoping to keeping his calm under all pressure and hopefully go out after the re-start and perform even better to answer all his critics. Speaking upon his relation with Max Verstappen, the Mexican revealed that the duo shares a good relation on and off the track. Moreover, both are trying their best to push Red Bull to the maximum distance.

Perez revealed that he can learn a lot from his teammate, who is second in the world championship for the time being. “Obviously my issues that I speak about, he probably doesn’t find the same thing, so we drive differently. It’s hard in that regard, but we are pushing the team forward together, so that is good.”

Lastly, together with Verstappen he tries to improve himself, Sergio Perez told Motorsport.com“I have a good relationship with him on track and off track, so we are able to share our views regularly.”

Having said that, with Lewis Hamilton being at his ruthless best, Verstappen would need the support of Perez by all means if in case the Dutchman was to break the shackles of domination of the British Driver in 2021.
